A limited edition New Beetle, a first for Australia, made available as part of a special internet pilot on the Volkswagen Australia website, www.volkswagen.com.au, from September 1, 2000. The limited edition Sunshine Beetle featured 'Sunshine Yellow' paint and an extensive list of additional equipment. This included alloy wheels, black leather interior, leather bound steering wheel, front seat heating and a power sliding glass sunroof. 75 made available in either 4 or 5 speed transmission.
