Fun Bug adThe Fun Bug in South Africa was similar to the Sports Bug/Beetle elsewhere. Paint options were Hibiscus (red), Sunset Yellow and Nugget Gold, with a black custom stripe and 'Fun Bug' black decal.

VW South Africa also fitted 'Rostyle' wheels, 165/15 radial tyres, a center console, tachometer, voltmeter and oil pressure gauges, parcel shelf, sports gearshift, Black sports steering wheel, Black bumpers, door handles and trim, silver taper-tips, Standard body type but with 1303 Super Beetle rear lights. Badged Volkswagen L, 1600 produced.
