An interesting post from our friends over in the VW Sports Bug Group with a link to an interesting discussion thread on TheSamba' to which some of you have contributed. What particularly interested me were the two production slips.
These contain so much information - or in my language little jigsaw puzzle pieces - they are invaluable to ongoing SEB research. Firstly they appear to both be from L96M Marathon Blue but show the production code as 87 which means yet another number in addition to those we already know. In addition the "Land" box shows one for KN which is Canada (Kanada in German) and the other, a US one as "UH" the basis of which I cannot work out the translation at the moment.
This prompts a plea: with so much information swirling around now on FB and Blogs it is impossible for us to keep track of all of it. So, for example, if you pick up on a discussion thread on TheSamba' that raises questions or just discusses an SEB topic please post a link to it here as it may a) bring us some more little pieces of the "jigsaw puzzle" and b) mean we might be able to help
... Oh and finally the issues of paint colours on Birth Certificates came up again yesterday posted on two other FBGs catering for Vintage/Classic Beetles. It is a big problem for the AutoMuseum team so if you see criticism try and explain the problem about production codes differing between factories.
