Context:

We have recently found photographs of a Swiss Hippigrün Spring Edition 1970 taken in 2014. This evidence has been more than supported by photographs and information shared with us by Iris Kühne of her Beetle and about which she told us the (translated) backstory:

“The KAMEI decorative strip was a wish of my unfortunately much too late deceased and good friend… She was also the previous owner of this beautiful beetle ..This wish was fulfilled by her husband and her family … For many years she drove this beetle with heart and lovingly cared for him as if he were a family member… Her name was: Trudi Lusti “

Iris’ example has been beautifully restored with the addition of ‘Weltmeister’ Lemmerz wheels and period KAMEI accessories including an under dash parcel shelf and the (memorial) Decor-Set Art.Nr. 4 9185 in Black.

The Swiss market Popkäfer makes an interesting comparison with the Austrian market version by having a full “L” trim package – yet not including the heated rear window option.

We also now have evidence of a Beatblau edition alongside an Extra-Kafer from Dealership photographic evidence supplied by Christoph Blatter.
