 The 15 Millionth was produced in Australia to commemorate the Beetle world record production figure of 15,007,034 – that car (a 1302 Super Beetle) subsequently named the ‘World Champion’. The car in different specifications named in Europe as the Marathon Beetle and in the USA as Baja Champion SE.

Based on Australian market Standard 1300 and Superbug (Super Beetle) Beetles with both manual and Semi-Automatic transmission in the full range of Australian market 1972 paint colours – Antarctica White, Avocado Green, Gemini Blue, Honey Brown, Mustard, Radar Red, Regatta Blue, and Wattle.

The Edition included the following special details: “‘red-wall’ tyres, full carpeting, black Duco painted dash panels (some with ‘satin-chrome’ trim), special silver dash plaque (notably showing a Beetle with Formula Vee ‘Riviera’ alloys) and souvenir gold coloured metal keychain
