The 15 Millionth was produced in Australia to commemorate the Beetle world record production figure of 15,007,034 – that car (a 1302 Super Beetle) subsequently named the ‘World Champion’. The car in different specifications named in Europe as the Marathon Beetle and in the USA as Baja Champion SE.

This version featured special ‘red-wall’ tyres, Pastel White paint, Black Leatherette upholstery, full carpeting, black Duco painted dash panels (some with ‘satin-chrome’ trim), special silver dash plaque (notably showing a Beetle with Formula Vee ‘Riviera’ alloys) and souvenir gold coloured metal key chain. Seen also in Radar Red, Honey Brown and Avocado Green paint. Cars were Standard 1300 and Superbug (Super Beetle). Also with Semi-Automatic transmission. 1500 produced.
